    People that buy houses under a flight path then complain about noise… That’s why it’s cheaper idiot…

    That’s pretty much everywhere. Here in the Netherlands, with Schiphol as its busiest airport, in 2021 one single person filed 17.000 complaints. Mind you, that person had mellowed out considerably: back in 2019 they had filed 31.000 complaints. Even in the slow year, that’s around 46 complaints each and every day.

    And the problem is: the media will report the figure as if 17.000 individuals filed them. Which leads to public perception being influenced negatively.

    And yes, these tend to be people who bought homes weeeeell after the airport was established. Schiphol’s been around since 1916 and has been a busy hub since the 60’s.

    Basically, if they cut off these professional complainants, there’d be next to no complaints. These are the type of folks to bitch and moan about everything under the sun.
