It’s shit, there’s no place around here that doesn’t smell of ash.
The government is blaming arsonists and agriculture mistakes but I highly doubt it. It’s inevitable that we would have so many wildfires given the state of climate change and El Niño, but not nearly enough funding was given to fire protection. While the people are burning and losing their homes, the government is focused on Ukraine.
It’s sad to see the fires going so wild there.
But why link this to Ukraine in any way ?
Can’t the government train Ukrainians and work on improving their fire response at the same time ?

I didn’t mean anything against Ukrainians, I’m just criticizing the government’s response to the fires. When fires are spreading around me, I don’t want the president to be in another country making deals about foreign wars, I want him to be here and doing absolutely everything that is possible to be done.
I understand that every government deals with multiple issues at the same time, but I don’t think a time of crisis is a good time to multitask.
