His point around 7:20 is very important. It’s a trap of which I am definitely a victim:

" ‘Just hit accept and play. You aren’t important or powerful enough to spend brainpower on this.’

It’s not about whether or not I believe that there will be a societally important reason that I personally sue Blizzard […] It’s about this very slow erosion of rights and the lowering expectations. "

My expectations of corperations is eroded as fuck mane. I literally accept that they are taking advantage of me because ‘that’s just how it is’.

2024: Blizzard discovers enshittification and embraces it fully.

Rossman does rant quite a bit in his videos, but he’s often very spot on.

I agree about Rossmann. I see so much critism of him that boils down to “he’s a manic nutbar”. And while he certainly has these qualities, I find it inspiring that he has found so much success with his autism. Doubly-so because he is constantly advocating for people to better themselves and society.

Blizzard can go fuck themselves with a saguero cactus, all the way from shaft to tip.

I wasn’t intending to buy anything of theirs in the near future anyway, luckily. Now I see even less reason to “donate” money to them by their definition of “purchase”.

Well Blizzard isn’t going to see my money any time soon then. It’s unfortunate because I love Starcraft but they don’t want me to purchase any of their stuff because apparently “purchase” means nothing to them except to suck money out of apathetic drones.

Also the SC2 Arcade mode recently had an exploit that leaks IP addresses due to poorly filtered text rendering.

Haven’t logged into my bnet account in years.

I just don’t give a fuck. Never should have made it at all, tbh.

Steam or bust. And even that’s pushing it.

Honestly, I’m at a point where I mostly don’t give a shit about online features in game, they’re just there to push a subscription, IAPs and lock you to their terms. I just want to play a game at my own pace, on my own terms, and know that I’ll be able to play that game indefinitely.

There are at least three four users who enjoy deep throating Tim Sweeny in this thread.

Unfortunately i was having a blast since Classic launched and i could play again what i once fell in love with. It’s easy to stop when the offering is modern Wow which in my opinion is really bad. I was having so much fun with Classic Hardcore and Classic Era. Time to stop completely or play on bad private servers i guess.

Alternatively, boycotting a company really doesn’t do shit these days. People have short memories and you’ll never get enough people boycotting Blizzard to actually make an impact. Especially over an issue like this. People stop caring about a boycott for much bigger things, a boycott over something like this would never accomplish anything. They’re probably recouping more money from their change than they are losing over this.

Really the only way change happens is for people like Rossman to draw enough attention to an issue that Congress actually does something about it. Your exercise is a noble one, but it’s an exercise in futility. That being said, I haven’t given Blizzard any money since the workplace harassment scandal came out.

Yeah, bad press has been the most effective since companies will still make their money. Like Dragon Dogma 2 steam count numbers are high at 100k+, so people are going to buy it. But, the bad reviews from people who bought it at least has led to bad press. So vocal complaints putting a company be into PR mode has a better chance than boycotts that are easily undone by people who don’t follow it.

Contact support and make it cost them time and money processing support requests all because they want to steal money from their customers. Report it to your local consumer advocacy group and government body. Request refund of all the purchases, on the basis you do not agree to the changing terms of service, that is reasonable refund reason.

I thought the courts decided these over reaching TOS agreements don’t mean anything, unless that was reversed?

It was decided nobody reads them anyways, so they cannot be enforced.
