Looks like Leatherman posted a preview video for the Arc multitool ahead of the imminent launch. Are any of you thinking of buying one of these to EDC? It looks good, but not sure if it is that much better than my Charge+ TTi.
When does the buy link go live? I’m down. I have an army of charges but this looks great.
Edit: They took the video private, ugh
I thought they may take it down at some point as in the information it said “available now on our site” - so they definitely didn’t intend for this to be made public. I would guess they are pretty close to release if they even put this up on YT in private mode.
For those who didn’t see the video before they took it down, here is a recap someone posted to YouTube https://youtu.be/IXPuRIFMwUE?si=5ewRdKeyEX9n8NF2
That will be my new EDC multitool. This looks like a Free version of the Charge or Wave. I have a heavily modded Free P4 that is close to my ideal, but the Arc still adds a few things I wish it had. I’m really pleased to see the “hammer” added.
Agreed about the hammer, and the ability to open the tools from the outside with one hand is really sweet (although I am a lefty and that negates this somewhat). I will probably end up digging into my wallet and getting one when it is released 😩
I have a GOAT on order as well, but the Arc appears to be on a whole new level.
I started to write a long response about the GOAT, then realized that it would probably work better as a standalone post. :-)
I did write that post, but now I can’t find it. I’m puzzled.
Just in case, anyone with a GOAT should watch this YouTube video by maxlvledc. It covers the out-of-the-box issues with the GOAT and has great suggestions about how to “fix” them. I found it very useful.
I did see your post on the GOAT and am responding on it.
I have been thinking about this and I may have to retract it. One of the things I love most about my old Surge and my modded Free P4 is the blade exchanger. I usually keep the diamond-coated file in there and the Arc has nothing equivalent. It checks all the boxes except that, but I use the blade exchanger a lot.
Maybe a third-party will make a blade exchanger for the Arc.
