This seems like a total waste of time since Trump didn’t win Colorado in either election and has very little chance in the state next year or am I looking at this all wrong? I guess if it passes in Colorado it paves the road for other states like Michigan and Arizona where it really will matter.

Idk, not doing things because they “don’t matter” is a lot of how we got here in the first place.

Lots of only, “playing to win” while ignoring anything that wasn’t on the specific map to winning.

I’m sure you’re right. Just wondering what these proceeding end up costing the tax payers. Whatever the cost I’m sure it’s a drop in the bucket considering what it would cost our country if Trump somehow managed to win the 2024 election.

To counter, there’s also such a thing a political capital. No matter what you want to do, it’s gonna cost. And no matter how righteous your cause, that capital is finite. Or, as we used to say, pick your battles.

Some costs on this one (which I’m pulling out of my butt):

        • May motivate more Trump voters to get to the pools.
        • May engender rage among some Coloradans making them more conservative leaning than they were.

This is a fight we have to have though, no matter the cost.

So I’m curious how this will work, what is preventing Republicans from writing in Trump? I feel like people that are voting for Trump are gonna vote for him no matter what. Will the state not count those votes then?

Oh, they can still write him in. This will only really matter if he is kept off the ballot in enough battle ground states, is my guess.
